Role Overview

As Vice President of Software Engineering, you will lead the engineering strategy, architecture, and delivery of Escalent’s SaaS products. You will be responsible for building scalable, secure, cloud-native applications while accelerating the adoption of Generative AI and intelligent agents across our product portfolio.

This is a highly strategic leadership role that combines modern software engineering with AI innovation. You’ll partner closely with Product, AI & Innovation, UX, Infrastructure and Business Leaders to create differentiated products that delight clients and transform the way research is conducted.

Key responsibilities:

1. Lead multiple software engineering teams responsible for the design, development and delivery of Escalent’s SaaS applications.
2. Define and execute the engineering strategy supporting our next generation of AI-enabled products.
3. Embed Generative AI, intelligent agents, automation, and conversational experiences into our product ecosystem.
4. Drive modern engineering practices including cloud-native architecture, API-first development, CI/CD, DevSecOps, automated testing and observability.
5. Partner closely with Product Management to deliver high-quality customer-centric releases.
6. Foster a culture of engineering excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
7. Build and mentor high-performing engineering leaders and teams across multiple geographies.
8. Ensure platform scalability, security, reliability and operational excellence.
9. Evaluate emerging technologies and translate them into practical business capabilities.
10. Work closely with the executive leadership team to align technology investments with business strategy.

Required skills:

1. 15+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership of large engineering organizations.
2. Proven experience building and scaling enterprise SaaS platforms.
3. Deep expertise in cloud-native application development.
4. Strong understanding of modern software architecture, APIs, distributed systems and microservices.
5. Demonstrated experience incorporating Generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, or machine learning into software products.
6. Experience leading geographically distributed engineering teams.
7. Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
8. Passion for developing engineering talent and creating high-performing teams.

Preferred experience:

1. Experience building AI-powered SaaS products.
2. Familiarity with modern AI frameworks, agentic architectures, MCP, RAG, vector databases and LLM orchestration.
3. Experience within research, analytics, data, or information services organizations.
4. Experience with modern frontend frameworks, cloud data platforms, and event-driven architectures.
