This role is designed for a senior research leader who wants to move beyond day-to-day execution and step into a strategic, client-facing leadership position. You will help shape conversations, influence decisions, and expand partnerships through expertise.

Role Overview

The Vice President of an Industry Practice is a senior leadership role within our Sales & Growth career path. This path is designed for accomplished research leaders who are ready to translate deep subject-matter expertise into strategic client impact and practice growth.

Rather than executing day-to-day research, you will:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) to pharmaceutical clients
  • Guide consultative engagements from opportunity shaping through delivery oversight
  • Partner with internal research leaders to ensure methodological excellence
  • Drive practice growth through insight-led client conversations

Our Health & Life Sciences sector partners closely with pharmaceutical organizations across the U.S., delivering research-backed strategy across customer experience, brand, communications, new product development, and segmentation.

This position is 100% remote (must be US-based). Base salary range: $160,000–$180,000 plus Sales Incentive Plan.

Focus of the Role

Strategic Client Leadership:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Shape client challenges into research-backed strategic solutions.
  • Elevate conversations beyond projects to long-term insight partnerships.
  • Provide executive-level perspective informed by industry trends and behavioral science.

Research & Industry Subject Matter Expertise:

  • Bring deep understanding of pharmaceutical and life sciences market dynamics.
  • Guide proposal strategy with strong methodological grounding.
  • Ensure solutions are rigorous, innovative, and aligned to business outcomes.
  • Contribute to thought leadership within the industry.

Portfolio Growth Through Expertise:

  • Grow and steward a multi-million-dollar portfolio through credibility and insight.
  • Identify whitespace opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Partner with Lead Generation and Managing Directors to pursue high-value opportunities.
  • Lead consultative discussions that position us as a strategic research partner.

Internal Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Collaborate across Escalent Group brands (Escalent, C Space, Hall & Partners) to craft integrated solutions.
  • Work closely with research teams to ensure seamless delivery of client commitments.
  • Provide input into new offerings based on emerging client and market needs.

Responsibilities

  • Identify complex client challenges and architect insight-driven solutions.
  • Develop growth strategies rooted in industry understanding and research capability.
  • Oversee proposal development, ensuring methodological rigor and viability.
  • Meet portfolio revenue goals through strategic relationship development.
  • Participate in industry conferences and forums to enhance reputation and thought leadership.
  • Provide market intelligence that informs new service development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in market research, consulting, or analytics within pharmaceutical/life sciences industries
  • Deep understanding of research methodologies and their strategic application.
  • Experience engaging senior client stakeholders (Director–C-level)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow client relationships through expertise and credibility
  • Financial acumen with understanding of pricing, margins, and portfolio management
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools
