Role Overview
We are seeking a Strategy Director with a passion for brand and consumer marketing research to join our team. While prior experience in executing custom research is required, we welcome candidates with a passion for new business and client growth.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
- Fuel your passion for business development and strategic client relationship management with the support of experienced senior leaders
- Collaborate with brand research experts to design and execute best-in-class research programs
- Oversee and coach others to deliver insights that delight clients and drive organic growth.

- Has a background in brand-related marketing research or closely related experience willing to develop expertise in this space.

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $130,000. If this is not the right range for you, please check out our other openings. This is a hybrid role with the expectation of working in-person at the Playa Vista, Los Angeles office 1 day per week with the team.
Responsibilities:
There are five core capability areas that a Strategy Director at H&P delivers on
- Client Builder - Building valuable relationships with clients You build strong relationships and act as a strategic partner to your clients, shaping their strategy to increase business performance. You are an expert in your client’s businesses, strategy and planning process, anticipating and acting on their needs.
- Business Developer – Driving business growth with commercial acumen You are responsible for overall revenue and business development with new and existing clients, leveraging your own network and delivering on organic growth and cross-selling opportunities. You play a lead role in effective pitch processes and secure new clients or projects through the creation of superior proposals. You proactively build fame for H&P with clients, agencies and the Escalent network, demonstrating thought-leadership on brand and communications.
- Expert in craft - Doing the day job brilliantly A Director at H&P is an expert in answering client’s strategic business questions and inspiring action through superior insight design, analysis and storytelling. You are an inspiring presenter and effectively coach your team to deliver a superior client experience and provide fresh insight that impacts decision making.
- Team Player – Giving and getting the best from the team As a team leader, you prioritize team motivation and development, aligning and developing your people to deliver against the growth goals and our business strategy. You create a collaborative working culture and empower your team to deliver superior client service and quality work. You also contribute to company initiatives that have an impact on growth.

Qualifications
- We are looking for a proactive, positive leader with a large network of brand and marketing contacts and proven track record of business development.
- We want someone who can grow our client roster and inspire and lead teams to deliver growth and our business vision.
- 8+ years of experience in custom brand and marketing research & insight is a must
- Inspiring team leader and coach with strong emotional intelligence.
- Commercially-focused and able to create and sell broad thinking and innovative solutions.
- Strong project and stakeholder management skills. Able to lead and prioritize to deliver outstanding quality on time.
- Outstanding presentation and storytelling skills.
- Highly motivated and driven, with a hunger to win and grow our business.
- Able to travel as the job requires.
